THINGS

THINGS is a design solution created out of the necessity to reconnect with our friends and loved ones. For me basketball was an important part of my social life and when Covid happened, that part of my life felt empty. Although we are returning to normal, the effects of our inability to gather still linger in subtle ways.

THINGS is a community building app that combines necessity with desire, to create fun and interactive events, curated for users to explore and engage with others.

Above are some environmental graphics dedicated to promoting the lifestyle of THINGS users. I wanted to create standout youthful graphics to showcase what I envisioned as the target demographic and what they would do in group setting if given the chance. THINGS was created out of the necessity for activity and community and that idea should be translated into advertising.

The user experience of the app was meant to be simple and effective to get users to where they want to be faster, without the need to endlessly scroll with no avail. I designed a geolocation system as well, that allows users to discover the different categories and locations of all events happening near them. The reason being is I wanted it to be similar to SNAP maps that constantly updates what's happening from the users perspective.

I created 4 logo systems to showcase the idea of different types of event categories (Sports, Outdoors, Street,  Nightlife, etc.)  having a different look to them to give each niche a unique and individual identity under the same family, THINGS.

Although not showcased in to video, I wanted to create Merchandise to draw user to participate in events. After doing several case studies and interviews with potential users, all agreed that cool and free merch is what would draw them to actively seek out and participate in events and new experiences.
